Leadbeter to Host Fourth Annual Veterans Expo Sept. 30

HARRISBURG – As a fierce advocate and supporter of veterans and the military, Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) is partnering with the Bloomsburg Fair Association to host his fourth annual Veterans Expo on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds. Veterans, and active and retired military personnel, will receive free admission at the Bloomsburg Fair with proof of service.

“In Columbia County, we are proud of, and grateful for, our veterans who sacrificed everything to defend our freedoms,” said Leadbeter. “They have our backs, and it’s important to have theirs as well. One of the ways I can fulfill that commitment is to host this annual forum to give thanks to our heroes and provide information on critical resources available to them.”

The veterans ceremony will run from 10-10:30 a.m. at the Free Stage. Maj. Gen. Terrence L. Koudelka Jr., deputy adjutant general – air and commander, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, will be the keynote speaker. Stacy Garrity, Pennsylvania Treasurer and a retired U.S. Army Reserve Colonel, will headline the special military guests.

“The brave men and women who put on the uniform to defend our great nation deserve our gratitude and respect every day,” said Treasurer Garrity. “This year we’ve celebrated 250 years of American freedom, a milestone that was been made possible by my fellow veterans who have fought with courage and bravery for everything America stands for. It is because of every veteran who came before, who is fighting now and those who will come after, that Americans can enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

The Veterans Expo will begin at 11 a.m. at the Agriculture/Horticulture Building and run until 6 p.m. Veterans will be able to connect with vendors to learn more about the care, benefits, and opportunities to which they are entitled.
