HARRISBURG – Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) announced three nonpublic schools in the 109th District are receiving more than $183,000 in grants from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC).

The allocations are as follows:
   • Community Friends Educational Corp. - Greenwood Friends School: $75,000.
   • Columbia County Christian School: $71,500.
   • New Story – Berwick: $36,610.

“A quality education begins with a safe environment where students can learn and teachers can teach without fear,” said Leadbeter. “This allows curiosity to flourish, creativity to grow and achievement to follow. Today’s news is a strong commitment in putting our children first.”

The PCCD’s School Safety and Security Committee awards grants to schools and organizations across Pennsylvania to improve safety measures for students and staff.
