Leadbeter, Bloomsburg Fair Commemorate Veterans at Third Annual Expo

BLOOMSBURG – State Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R-Columbia) and the Bloomsburg Fair Association praised veterans in the 109th District at the third annual Veterans Expo during the Bloomsburg Fair Wednesday.

Brave heroes from across Columbia County gathered to be recognized for their courage and dedication to serving the United States. Upon conclusion of the ceremony, veterans and their families received information from representatives from various veterans’ organizations, health care services and local businesses.

“Our veterans answered the call of duty to serve our country, and they did so admirably,” said Leadbeter. “It’s the honor of a lifetime to lend a helping hand to those who sacrificed so much to protect us. That’s why I’m grateful to host this event every year so our heroes can receive the care and help they deserve.”
   
The ceremony featured two keynote addresses by Maj. Gen. John Pippy, adjutant general of Pennsylvania, and Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity. Both esteemed guests spoke about veterans being the backbone of Pennsylvania and the country. 

At the end of the ceremony, Leadbeter presented a citation from the House of Representatives to the Catawissa Military Band to celebrate the band’s 147-year history. 

“The Catawissa Military Band is a shining light to all of us in Columbia County, and this citation recognizes the band’s rich history. Founded in 1878, this group is one of the oldest continuously operating community bands in Pennsylvania. The band ties generations together through a wide variety of tunes, showcasing its talents for all audiences,” said Leadbeter. 

This annual event reaffirms Leadbeter’s legislative priorities to support veterans and their families in the 109th District. A champion of Columbia County’s conservative values, he continues to advocate for heroes in Harrisburg.
